Pyhätunturi is located about a 90-minute drive from Rovaniemi Airport. From Rovaniemi, the journey to Pyhätunturi can be continued by taxi, bus or car.

An easy and affordable way to get to Pyhätunturi from Rovaniemi Airport is to take the SkiBus. The bus leaves from the main entrance of Rovaniemi Airport on the right. The final stop of the SkiBus is in front of Ski-Inn Pyhätunturi. You can also arrange a return ride with the driver when you arrive.

By train or car train

The closest train stations to Pyhätunturi are located in Kemijärvi and Rovaniemi. Night trains from Helsinki to Rovaniemi and Kemijärvi depart every day in the evening, offering a pleasant way to travel to Lapland in your own cabin.

VR Trains Helsinki-Kemijärvi and Helsinki-Rovaniemi routes also serve passengers travelling with car. You can redeem tickets on VR's website and/or in the free VR Matkalla app.

The distance from Kemijärvi to Pyhätunturi is approximately 50 kilometers. After the trains arrival to Kemijärvi, a Ski bus service to Pyhätunturi departures from the station. Bus tickets can be purchased from www.matkahuolto.fi or directly from the bus. The journey takes approx. 40–50 minutes, depending on the road conditions and route. The road from Kemijärvi to Pyhätunturi is well marked, and the roads are usually kept in good condition every season.

The distance from Rovaniemi railway station to Pyhätunturi is 150 km. The bus from Rovaniemi railway station to Pyhätunturi and back runs four times a day.

Alternatively, you can rent a car from the railway station or take a taxi. The journey takes about 1.5 hours by car and the roads are in good condition.

Taxis and chartered transport

Distances are long in the north of Finland, and taxis are a flexible and fast option for getting from one place to another. Taxis are easily available at both the Rovaniemi train station and the airport. Taxi ranks can be found right in front of the terminal and train station.

There is no taxi rank on duty in Pyhätunturi, but you can book a ride in advance to ensure a smooth transfer. It is worth agreeing on the price of the transport in advance.

By rental car

Renting a car from Rovaniemi airport or train station allows you to move freely. The selection of vehicles with additional services is diverse and the rental times are flexible. Pick-up and return is possible at most rental companies according to the customer's schedule, even outside opening hours. It is advisable to book a car well in advance to ensure the vehicle and additional services you want.
